First, get rid of any big pieces of dirt and debris from the sills. After removing them use a vacuum cleaner to remove the small debris and dust. Attach a small vacuum hose and gently suck up all the dirt. By doing this you will make sure all the dust is gone and you will move to the next step.

Fill a bucket with warm water and put a few drops of cleaning detergent. Dish soap will do the job, but we recommend using a detergent which is suitable for wooden furniture. It will not only clean the frames, but it will also polish them! Make sure the cleaning solution is fully mixed before applying it.

Take a clean sponge and wet it. An important detail is to ensure the sponge is not sopping wet because it can damage the wooden sills and frames. Always wring the sponge before cleaning! Start wiping the frames until you are satisfied with the results.

If you are still not happy with the results, you can use a toothbrush for a more precise touch. The brush should be clean and soft bristled. Scrub the corners of the sills until they are perfectly clean. By doing this you will also keep your window frames fresh for longer because you will remove all the dust build ups.

Use a soft wet cloth to rinse all the soapy water from the window frames. Finish the cleaning process by wiping the frames and sills with a dry cloth!
